Most of the strategies today are vastly different simply because the average raid has much higher dps, so some mechanics are just ignored. Conflag is casted on the player with the most threat, so all tanks should be building threat and ready to pick up as needed. Welcome to our guide for the raid of Onyxia’s Lair! Unlike most other raid instances, Onyxia’s Lair is an extremely short raid, consisting of just a few trash mobs and a single boss. My guild does split Onyxias and we found it's actually easier to control the aggro with less people, since you can make it down the entire threat list from fireballs during phase 2. Two different mechanics that both push the target back. I was on the first place on my threat meter with 18k while the next person was the main tank with 10k - those numbers are just out of my memory but should be quite accurate.
